1. What Tasked is

Tasked connects people who need a small local job done ("posters") with people willing to do it ("workers"). Tasked is a platform, not a party to any job — the contract for the work itself is between the poster and the worker.

Tasked is for one-off, single tasks — help around the house or yard, moving a few boxes, that sort of thing. It is not a job board for finding full-time, part-time, or ongoing employment, and postings for that purpose may be removed.

2. Contact information is shared once a job is assigned

When a poster accepts an application, Tasked shares the accepted worker's name, email, and phone number (if provided) with the poster, and shares the poster's name, email, and phone number with the accepted worker — so the two of you can coordinate the job. This information is not shown to anyone else, including other applicants, and is not shared before a job is assigned.

3. Payments and fees

Payment is handled by Stripe. A poster pays exactly the budget shown on the job — no extra fee is added on top. Funds are held on the platform until the poster confirms the job is complete, at which point they're transferred to the worker, minus a 10% Tasked service fee. In other words: if a job is posted at $90, the poster pays $90 and the worker receives $81.00 — this split is shown up front on every job listing and on the post-a-job form, before anyone applies or pays.

This service fee is not tax. Tasked does not withhold or remit income tax, GST, or any other tax on a worker's behalf. Workers are individually responsible for declaring their own earnings from Tasked to the relevant tax authority.

Tasked is not a bank and does not hold funds outside of Stripe.

4. Reviews

Both sides may leave a rating and comment after a job is completed. Reviews are visible to other users of the platform.

5. No warranty on job quality or safety

Tasked does not vet posters or workers beyond requiring an account, and does not guarantee the quality, legality, or safety of any job. Use your own judgement when meeting someone in person or entering someone else's property, and involve the emergency services directly (not Tasked) in an actual emergency.

6. Account data

Tasked stores your email, name, and any optional profile details you add (location, phone number, profile picture). This data is used to operate the marketplace and is not sold to third parties.
